The Sunu Foundation held our second annual summer fundraising event at the end of June to support our mission of helping the youth in Senegal.

Everyone had a great time eating, drinking, and conversing while listening to tunes by DJ Pauly. Those in attendance enjoyed face painting, hair braiding, games, dancing, and viewing Senegalese artifacts. A definite highlight was the musical performance and drumming instruction by Ghana Mbaye.

From the bottom of our hearts, we can’t thank you enough for making the event a success and coming out to support the Sunu Foundation. Without your generosity, we wouldn’t have been able to raise over $4,000. As Mbagnick (Ponge) shared at the event, for only $17 we can send one child to JAM’s summer camp and $30 provides one child with school supplies for one year.

Closer to the time of the JAM’s summer camp, we will share exactly how many children we are able to send this year, as well as how many backpacks of school supplies we are able to give out. Stay tuned!
