It’s a year full of firsts for the Sunu Foundation. Following a successful kick off this spring, the Sunu Foundation held its first annual summer fundraising event in July to support its mission of helping the children of Senegal.

It’s hard to say whether the dunk tank or the musical and dance performance by Duniya West African Drum and Dance was a bigger hit. What we know for certain is that everyone had a great time enjoying the fun events, food, face painting, conversation and simply coming together to support the Sunu Foundation; making it a successful first fundraising event with over 200 people in attendance.

From the bottom of our hearts, we can’t thank you all enough for making the event a success. Without your support, we wouldn’t have been able to raise almost $5,000. The money raised will be put to good use. For only $17, we can send one child to JAM’s summer camp and $30 is enough to provide one child with school supplies for one year. We are excited to report that as of September 3rd, there are 238 children participating in JAM’s summer camp.
